Throw The Seed, Chill Out, Watch God Bring The Increase
Throw the seed, chill out, watch God bring the increase (medical facility with door –crowd)
On Sunday morning pastors and other team members were sent out to preach at local church plants in GooJoo. Thor and I were sent to the farthest church location across town. As we traveled to the church, we passed many huts and small farms.
When we arrived, the church facility was larger than I expected. We met with the pastors and leaders and then waited for them to lead us in. It was very different than what we are used to in America. When it was time for us to go into the sanctuary, we mainly saw lots of children. Then others began to slowly come in. By the time all the people showed up there were between four to five hundred in attendance. About a third of those attending looked to be 18 years old or younger.
It was an amazing experience to see how passionate the youth were in worship. They had a unique worship style. They would bend over a little and sway their arms from side to side. If they saw us looking their way they would smile real big, just having a wonderful time. The worship leader was very dynamic and a good dancer. But most importantly, he was anointed. Even though we couldn’t understand the language, we could feel the presence of God moving in the place. It was wonderful to see everybody worshiping and pouring out their hearts before God.
After worship, Thor spoke about planting seed. He referenced the passages in Mark 4.
26 He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. 28 All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. 29 As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”
