Growth In Christ

One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and set out. Luke 8:22

Not every journey God sets you on starts with a tingling feeling, special sense, emotional encounter, or even what we would call a “spiritual” direction. But any invitation from Christ is a potential for growth. Just like with the original 12 disciples who were invited to cross over to the other side of the lake, we as His children are always challenged to grow deeper in our understanding of who Christ is. The journey of growth and faith is never ending. We never “arrive.” Instead at each point of revelation in our understanding of who He is and whom we are chosen to be, God begins a new work to reveal Himself and His love to us in a deeper way. The process is often challenging.

It challenges our current paradigm, our current mindset, and takes us out of our comfort zone. But through the process He is taking us from faith to faith. He is completing the good work He started in us. And He making us a new creation. He is making us a people who see the world through His eyes, who understand spiritual warfare, and who are filled will a deeper compassion and love that can only be birthed through His compassion and love.

Be encouraged when God takes you beyond your current revelations who He is. Know that He is allowing the current circumstances to bring you to that deeper walk, to a place beyond anything we can imagine. You can trust that He is with you and will bring you through to the other side.
